Orumé Hays is an award-winning Certified Public Accountant and Founder & CEO of Hays CPA LLC, where she advises small and mid-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, and growing organizations on accounting, tax, and financial strategy. With over a decade of experience, Orumé has served clients across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, architecture, food and beverage, and professional services.
A recognized leader in the accounting profession, Orumé is an At-Large Council Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Immediate Past Chair of the AICPA Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) Executive Committee. She has also held numerous board and leadership roles with the New York State Society of CPAs and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and currently serves on editorial and advisory boards within the profession.
She brings a forward-looking perspective to practice management, with a focus on leveraging technology and emerging tools to enhance advisory services and firm operations.
Orumé has received national recognition for her impact, including being named to Forbes’ Top 200 CPAs in America, Forbes Best-in-State CPAs (New York), and AICPA/CPA Practice Advisor’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting over multiple years.
She is an adjunct lecturer at the City University of New York and is deeply committed to mentorship, education, and advancing leadership within the accounting profession.
