New enhancements help firms strengthen audit quality, expand standards coverage and reduce complexity across engagements
NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2026 — The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and CPA.com, the trusted partner in accounting and finance transformation, today announced the latest enhancements to the AI-enabled Dynamic Assurance Solution (DAS) Suite, powered by Caseware Verity. Enhancements spanning DAS Audit, DAS SLG (State and Local Government) and DAS Interim Review — along with the launch of DAS 11-K — further unify methodology, engagement data and workflow-native intelligence across the end-to-end audit lifecycle to help firms improve audit quality while reducing complexity.
The latest updates expand industry-specific content, introduce dedicated group audit capabilities aligned with SAS No. 149, and extend support for interim review engagements. By reducing repetitive documentation and streamlining reviewer oversight, DAS empowers firms to execute efficiently across a wide range of engagement types and supports their entire audit practice.
The DAS Suite delivers fully integrated applications that connect risk assessment, audit workflows and engagement data within a single system of record. Powered by a transformative methodology developed by the AICPA in partnership with audit professionals from leading firms, DAS enables a data- and risk-driven approach to auditing — eliminating the need for disconnected tools while enabling greater efficiency, audit quality and client value.
"The latest DAS enhancements are shaped directly by feedback from firms using the platform today," said Amy Pawlicki, vice president, Assurance and Advisory Innovation, AICPA. "Whether it's more efficient workflows, deeper industry content, or expanded standards coverage, the goal is the same: helping firms deliver high-quality audits while enhancing client value and auditor experience."
Key enhancements across the DAS Suite include:
DAS Audit
- Expanded industry content: New coverage for non-clearing broker dealer, registered investment companies, oil & gas and higher education engagements gives teams industry-specific risk libraries, disclosure content, analytics and internal control guidance tailored to each industry sector.
- Risk workflow enhancements: Connect a single substantive response across multiple related risks — allowing preparers to document work once while maintaining consistent sign-offs and full visibility for reviewers.
- Enhanced audit sampling: Teams can take credit for other substantive work already performed against the same population, so sample sizes reflect the full scope of procedures completed elsewhere in the engagement.
- Governed AI via Caseware Verity: DAS leverages Caseware's fully governed and defensible AI intelligence and orchestration layer, Caseware Verity. The same AI that operates directly inside the engagement can now answer natural-language questions about information already documented across DAS forms, from entity understanding to outstanding reviewer sign-offs. Rather than manually searching each form, practitioners get immediate, grounded answers with the same governance standard applied across the Verity platform, operating entirely within a firm's own Caseware environment.
DAS SLG (State and Local Government)
- Dedicated SAS No. 149 Group Audit Workflows: A new group audit workflow aligned to SAS No. 149 gives teams a dedicated way to identify components, document how work is performed and calculate component performance materiality within Group Audit Central.
- Stand-alone cycle lead sheets: Trial-balance analysis is now separated from audit procedures, so the Audit Program opens and moves faster during procedure execution.
- Clearer fund and opinion-unit data: Risk assessment now ensures the financial information teams see always corresponds to the specific fund, opinion unit or government-wide basis being assessed.
DAS Interim Review
- Accommodates AICPA and PCAOB requirements: At engagement setup, teams choose PCAOB or the newly added AICPA (AU-C Section 930) standards, with the selection automatically tailoring downstream content, terminology and guidance throughout the engagement.
- Engagement quality review (EQR) support for AICPA engagements: Optional embedded support provides dedicated review forms & guidance to guide EQRs during their review.
DAS 11-K
DAS 11-K joins the DAS Suite, released as a part of the DAS EBP (Employee Benefit Plans) offering to support dual-compliance work while remaining consistent with the DAS tools users already know. Built on the foundation of DAS EBP and aligned with the DAS PCAOB solution's methodology, DAS 11-K has a purpose-built workflow and content to support Form 11-K engagements.
DAS 11-K features specialized completion tools, including a PCAOB audit report checklist, templates for an unqualified auditor's report and consent, a financial statement review aid and a final communications tool.
What firms are saying
"Implementing a unified audit solution has been essential so that every audit, regardless of industry, follows the same high standards and risk-focused methodology," said Phillip Austin, partner-in-charge of EisnerAmper's National Office and chief risk officer for Assurance. "Our goal was to drive audit quality, efficiency, and a better client experience, all in a way that meets the complexity of our clients' businesses and our profession's rigorous standards."
