CPA.com, a leading developer and distributor of technology and business solutions for the CPA profession, is seeking an experienced Lead Manager – Event Programming to support the planning and execution of high-impact corporate conferences, events, and meetings.

This role serves as a critical partner to business owners and senior leaders, providing hands-on event planning and content support across the full event lifecycle. Responsibilities include aiding in agenda development, timeline and deadline management, speaker coordination, data management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Lead Manager – Event Programming will drive day-to-day project management to ensure events are delivered on time, on budget, and with high value for CPA.com and event participants, while also supporting relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings a strong passion for event planning and execution, exceptional project and data management capabilities, and highly organized communication skills, along with a proven track record of supporting complex, large-scale corporate events. Experience in the accounting profession or accounting technology ecosystem is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Development:

  • Evaluate and implement emerging trends in event technology, formats, and engagement techniques to continuously elevate the attendee experience and business outcomes.
  • Manage and maintain event-related data, including attendee information, session performance, speaker details, and reporting dashboards. Gather, organize, and synthesize internal and external information to support day-to-day planning decisions.
  • Build, maintain, and improve project plans, tools, templates, and workflows to ensure consistent and repeatable event planning and execution.
  • Support CPA.com participation in key profession committees and profession groups to promote the inclusion of company content in major conference agendas.
  • Track, analyze, and report on post-event performance metrics, compiling insights and recommendations to inform future event planning and execution.

    Programming and Agendas:

  • Manage event programming execution, partnering closely with the Professional Services and Marketing Teams to operationalize content development, and ensure agendas align with corporate objectives and audience needs.
  • Project manage agenda development, including session tracking, timelines, content review, and submission management.
  • Manage annual corporate speaking calendar and speaking requests and submissions.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency across all programming elements, including session titles, descriptions, learning objectives, and speaker materials.
  • Coordinate all aspects of speaker engagement, including outreach, scheduling, contracts, travel, accommodations, and technical requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and communications to ensure programming details are correctly reflected in promotional materials and event platforms.
  • Support onsite and virtual event delivery, managing real-time programming logistics and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth execution.

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B event management, with a proven track record of successfully executing large-scale corporate events, conferences, and high-profile corporate symposiums and meetings.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism and judgment in representing the company with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency and ability to use project management software such as Monday.com, Asana or Workday to run an event function.
  • Proficiency in event management software, such as Event Power, ShoApp and similar tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% as business needs require.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

    Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a corporate or high-pressure event environment.
  • Strong vendor management skills and relationships within the events industry.
  • Experience in the accounting profession or accounting technology ecosystem.
