I found this interview with Mr Bourke very interesting and it enhanced by knowledge especially about data security by listening to an accountant speaking about it from his point of view. I agree with him that times have changed from when everything was done manually to a digital era where most of the processes involve information and technology in some way or another.
Increased information capabilities have led to management being able to make better informed decisions in managing the firm. This has facilitated retrieval and use of information. Data could be easily lost back when processes were not digitised through fire and theft. The increased business of accountancy and auditing firms shows that businesses have faith and trust in the data storage and security systems of such companies. Leaders of such firms must adapt to the current systems and be convinced that they are better than legacy systems.
